maximizer — one who maximizes the browser window.
Roger Johansson posted a poll a couple of days ago with the intent to learn how many people usually maximize their browser windows.
He has just posted the results and I thought I'd share them with you.
Overall results:

A hell of a lot of people don't maximize their browsers on Windows. Like Roger, I was expecting this to be higher... But I guess people with big monitors also use Windows, so that isn't much of a surprise.
Above 1280 is when most people start to get bothered by all the white-space on the margins and avoid maximized windows. They want to take advantage of their screen estate. Good for them.
One little note, though, on the fact that only 6 people responded with 800x600 resolutions. Sweet.
With all this being said, please bear in mind that this is a website centered on web development so the results could be skewed. Take this with a grain of salt, but remember that we, developers, are users still. If anyone has the ability to perform this sort of poll on a more general website, do so. We thank you.

Their browser window must be almost maximized. It's a common situation.
Funny part when he was getting confused on how to handle all the data.

I believe this is good reference for when you need to argue about why not to go with wider than 800 static layouts. Of course, it doesn't apply to liquid / elastic layouts, though.
